Japanese Knot Bags

with Penny Follows

One-day workshop, 10am-3pm

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

These delightful bags can be made in any size either by hand or with a sewing machine. They are small open tote bags but, with a twist. They have asymmetrical handles, and one of the handles slips through the other to form a knot and close the bag so that the contents of the bag are secure. They are useful for knitting, crochet, sewing projects and to carry lunch to work!

ABOUT THE TUTOR

Penny Follows has been teaching textiles for more than 10 years in London and the Home Counties. She is a bespoke dressmaker with a studio in the Chilterns. Penny believes that sewing is a 'learned skill' and a great creative outlet. She enjoys passing that skill, and a passion for textiles on to both adults and children.

WHAT TO BRING

Please bring a basic sewing kit with you. You will need to bring a basic sewing kit, 2 x half metres of cotton fabric, and matching thread. You can also bring your machine if you wish to use one. If you choose to use your machine you will be able make the bag very much more quickly and you may be able to make more than one (in which ase bring additional fabric)!
