Jewellery Making (Weekly)
with Michael Carberry
Tuesdays, from 7pm-9.30pm
Workshop begins in March 2022 - to register your interest, email info@queensparkarts.com
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This class is suitable for students of all skill levels. Beginners will get an insight into jewellery making and learn the basic techniques. This includes learning the correct tool handling and equipment for jewellery making. They will also be taught how to turn their jewellery designs into reality. Intermediate and advanced makers will learn new techniques and broaden their skills whilst working on their own projects.
ABOUT THE TUTOR
Michael is an award-winning professional jeweller who creates work that reflects the process of its construction, allowing the surface qualities produced to trace their own development. Michael is known for his distinctive style of jewellery, which owes a great deal to sculpture, with his hand forged rings, bracelets and neck pieces looking as if they have grown from the metal.
Previous Exhibitions include Goldsmiths' Hall and the Royal Academy is London, as well as international collections in the USA.
WHAT TO BRING
Student will need to bring some hand tools and materials, including metal (this will need to be discussed with the tutor, depending on what project the student is making). A sketchbook would be very useful.
