ABOUT THE CLASS

Learn how to paint a loose pen and watercolour painting of some summer vegetables. Learn tips and techniques in watercolour that you can take forward into your own painting following the class. Feel free to bring your own vegetables if there is something in particular you would like to paint.

ABOUT THE TUTOR

Leila Ward is a Tring-based artist who studied Art and Design at Loughborough University School of Art and Design. She has experimented with different mediums over the years, and particularly likes drawing/ painting animals, and using watercolour, acrylic, and printing techniques. Leila runs the Tring Art Society, and enjoys making art more accessible to others, showing people that anyone can create art.

WHAT TO BRING

- Selection of watercolour paints (either pans or tubes)

- Selection of brushes (such as DalerRowney size 10 and 2 round, and at least one flat brush 1/2 inch - 1 inch)

- A4 or A3 Watercolour paper pad (minimum 250 gsm cold pressed/NOT paper)

- 2 x Water pots (old tall plastic tubs work well for this such as soup tubs!)

- Masking tape

- Paper towels

- Mixing palette

- Pencil

- Rubber

- Ruler

- Fine tip waterproof black drawing pen such as Uni pin fine liner
