Pottery is one of the most popular activities at QPAC. We run classes throughout the week, giving students access to our fully-equipped studio spaces to learn and develop their skills in ceramics - whether sculpting, working at the wheel, or using hand-building techniques such as coiling. Our tutored drop-in classes are perfect for complete beginners as well as those developing their talents. Our experienced tutors will offer demonstrations, advice and guidance to help you develop your own projects, from the design stage through to the final glazing process. Your workshop fee includes use of our facilities, including clay and a wide variety of tools. If you would like to have your work fired there is an additional charge, calculated based on the weight of the piece. Our tutors will be on hand to assist when working this out. Students wishing to apply their own glaze recipes (or any not in stock at QPAC) should have a chat with our Technician before decorating their work to make sure the glaze(s) are suitable for our firing temperatures. You’ll learn how to design and create your very own ceramic works of art, be it a mug, bowl, plate, vase or sculpture – perfect for your portfolio or just for fun! Full guidance is offered to students to help them develop their projects. Your workshop fee includes use of our facilities, including clay and a wide variety of tools.
