ROUTES AND ROOTS
OUTER AYLESBURY RING: OUR ARTISTIC RESPONSE
JANET EDMONDS AND LIZ HOLLIDAY
EXHIBITION
22 MAR – 27 APR
Two textile artists, Janet Edmonds and Liz Holliday, have walked the 52 miles of this Long Distance Path. They shared, and recorded on camera, many observations along the way. Each section was different in route, length, weather and season. The details to be enjoyed were infinite, the connections endless, and yet they became ever more grounded in that particular landscape. In what were to be the Covid years and since, they have been creating many new images to share.
Janet has a passion for drawing and stitching detailed surfaces, from tree bark and branches, leaves and seed pods to the wider landscape.
Liz is a natural scientist with a love of landscape, maps, and the identity of every living detail. These became her inspiration for lines and colours in fabric and stitch.
