ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
In this course Leila will take you through how to mix vibrant colours and the reasons why you get muddy colours. By the end of the session you will have a better understanding of your paints and how to mix your desired colours in watercolours, gouache, or acrylics.
Understanding how to mix colours is an essential skill for any artist, whether you're a painter, graphic designer, or illustrator. In this class, you'll learn the fundamentals of colour theory and how to mix colours to achieve the desired shades for your artwork.

How to mix vibrant, clean colours using paint
Tips for how to mix colours in shadows and light
Techniques for colour matching and colour correction in your artwork
Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience with colour mixing, this class is perfect for anyone who wants to improve their colour mixing skills and gain a deeper understanding of colour theory. By the end of the class, you'll have experience of how to mix different colours, and completed a colour mixing project giving you experience of how to recreate accurate colours, giving you the confidence to use colour effectively in your artwork. ABOUT THE TUTOR
Leila Ward is a Tring-based artist who studied Art and Design at Loughborough University School of Art and Design. She has experimented with different mediums over the years, and particularly likes drawing/ painting animals, and using watercolour, acrylic, and printing techniques. Leila enjoys making art more accessible to others, showing people that anyone can create art.
WHAT TO BRING
Students should bring a selection of paints of their choice (acrylics or watercolours) and the appropriate paper and brushes for these, also water pots and palettes.
