Woodwork & Woodturning

Tuesdays (7pm-9pm) during term time.

This untutored group gives students a chance to develop their own woodwork and woodturning projects in a supportive, creative environment.

New members are always welcome to join this friendly and informal group. Existing ‘wood enthusiasts’ share many years’ experience and a range of talents which are happily shared within the group. Help is always at hand.

The group includes experienced wood turners who have sold many of their items at craft shows. A retired woodcraft teacher, who specialises in the use of hand tools and traditional techniques, is also part of the group and happy to assist beginners wishing to learn basic woodcraft.

Items made within the group range from furniture and ornaments, to more practical items for around the home. Students will need to supply their own timber and sundries (such as screws and glue) but are welcome to utilise the communal facilities available in the QPAC woodwork studio.

The class is open to all adults including those with additional needs supported by their carers. Students ages 12+ may attend if accompanied by an adult.
