That Joe Payne (Sat 16 Sep)
Saturday 16 September 7.30pm That Joe Payne
with support from local-musician John Zealey
Award-winning progressive rock vocalist That Joe Payne returns to his birth town of Aylesbury to launch his brand-new album ‘Bread & Circuses’. The singer and his six-piece band will perform the record in full for the first time ever, including fan-favourite singles such as ‘Live the Dream’ and ‘Falling in Love is Easy’.
Described by Prog Magazine as “vocally a cross between Freddie Mercury and George Michael”, the songwriter has developed a unique style of composition, combining his love of epic movie-hits and classical-crossover to create his own brand of cinematic-pop.
Remembered by audiences for his impressive 5-octave range and flamboyant showmanship, this will be the artist’s 3rd solo-album, and his 15th album release since his career began in 2011. Other collaborations include work with John Holden, Zio, Methexis, and The Enid.
Personal achievements include being voted Best Male Vocalist for two years running by the readers of Prog Magazine. In 2019, Payne was invited to perform for the legendary Aylesbury-founded band Marillion at their fan-weekend in The Netherlands. More recently, Joe has been working and performing alongside hundreds of local children at Aylesbury’s Waterside Theatre in support of Florence Nightingale Hospice with FNHC On Stage.
Please note ticket prices on the eveing will be £24 on the door.
