ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Get inspired and practise your life drawing in a friendly studio setting! It's an excellent opportunity to draw or paint from an art model in creative set-ups and develop your work independently over a full day. All levels welcomed.

Please contact Ellie Kirkup on ellie@queensparkarts.com with questions. Participants should be aware that you will be drawing from a nude model in this session.

WHAT TO BRING

The centre provides easels, donkeys (seated easel benches), drawing board and bulldog clips for your class.

The class is untutored and you are welcome to bring your own choice of materials. We recommend charcoal, a variety of large paper sheets, a putty rubber, limited palette of coloured pastels, gouache paints or watercolour.

The longer session allows time to work in Oil/Acrylic paints if desired, longer poses in the afternoon to help facilitate this. Oil paints are welcomed; however you must bring in your own mediums /brush cleaner. Only low odour solvents are permitted in the studio – brands such as Zest-It and Sansodour. Please bring plenty of jam jars so that you can take solvent waste home with you, it must not be put down the sink.

The centre also has an art shop (at reception) where materials can be purchased individually/by the sheet.
