ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Making a soft toy/animal/monster from old clothing – Participants to bring in old fabrics, tshirts & dresses, as well as clean socks & soft underwear to use for stuffing.
Participants will create animal/monster/abstract object designs on paper and then transcribe these to old clothes to sew up and create beautiful new soft objects/animals/cushions. They will be shown how to draw, transcribe, sew, stuff and embellish. They may want to bring inspiration ideas with them.
ABOUT THE TUTOR
Belinda Hunt is an Art Therapist, Artist and Teacher who uses art to focus on wellbeing and health and on our relation to each other and to our planet. She works with individuals and groups, promoting personal and social wellbeing through the art process and art outcomes.
Belinda's art covers various media in 2D and 3D and has exhibited across the UK.
Belinda trained as a Fine Artist at Byam Shaw, then in Figurative Sculpture at Hetherley and Art Therapy at University of Hertfordshire. She also works as an Art Historian and has written books on the subject.
