ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Join textile tutor Sophie Carr for a fun and inspiring workshop that explores simple but effective hand embroidery and embellishment techniques to brighten and enliven your existing denim clothing.
You will learn a range of hand stitches and creative sequin and beading techniques that will transform your wardrobe!
WHAT TO BRING
An item of denim clothing - jeans/jacket/shirt/shorts/skirt etc.
If you do not have anything suitable for the workshop, we suggest purchasing something from your local charity shop.
All sewing equipment and embellishment materials, including threads, beads, sequins etc will be provided in the workshop.
ABOUT THE TUTOR
Sophie Carr is a textiles professional with a background specialising in embroidery. After gaining a BA (Hons) in Textiles & Surface Design from Buckinghamshire New University, Sophie won 1st place in the international embroidery competition the Hand & Lock Prize for Embroidery.
Sophie then went on to work for Hand & Lock, a 250 year old embroidery studio providing embroidery for the Royal Family and iconic fashion houses, for eight years running the prestigious Prize for Embroidery competition - highlighting and showcasing top emerging fashion and textile designers from around the world.
