with Guy Morris
Thursday 29 October | 10am - 4pm
A workshop celebrating the National Year of Reading!
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
come and create your own book cover using simple hand made stencils and screen printing techniques. Build up your imagery throughout the day with layers of patterns and colors as you work towards your final image. Create something inspired by your favorite books, stories or your own imagination.
ABOUT THE TUTOR
Guy Morris completed a Fine Art degree at Northumbria University 2004 and is a mixed-media visual artist currently living and working in Aylesbury. His work often sits between reverie and irreverence as he seeks to create a language to help understand the world around him. Themes often deal with popular culture, stereotypes, gender, disability and identity, social and political issues; all of this is done with a certain levity whilst questioning what it means to be a human living in today’s complex times.
WHAT TO BRING
Materials for the workshop will be provided, though it is recommended that you wear old clothes or bring an apron. You may also want to bring inspirations in the form of images, your favourite book, or maybe some passages that you particularly like. The is a coffee bar onsite for drinks and snacks, but you may also want to bring a packed lunch.
