Beginners Pottery (6-week course)

Throwing and Handbuilding general pottery beginners sessions

Tuesday Evening 6-week prescribed course with Patrick Hayward (4 Nov-9 Dec)

Tuesday Morning general beginners pottery with Helen Neighbour - 2 spaces for 6 week bookable blocks running alongside Helen's weekly intermediate class.

We have an extensive programme of Tutored and Untutored classes throughout the week at QPAC, some of which are specifically aimed at beginners; Tuesday Afternoon throwing and handbuilding and Thursday Afternoon handbuilding and sculpture (no wheel use). We also have some mixed classes that accommodate a few places for beginners and beginners 6 week courses - bookable as blocks of sessions down below.

By the end of these 6-week courses participants will feel comfortable navigating both the making and glazing studios at QPAC independently at any of our weekly sessions (tutored or untutored), and will have skills to formulate and complete their own pottery projects.

These sessions run as a pre-paid 6-week course to allow newcomers to acclimatise to the centre and learn a range of techniques for making their own work. If you would prefer to attend on a pay-as-you-go basis, please see our weekly pottery classes.
