'The Trials of Oscar Wilde' (Rehearsed Reading) (12 Jun)

In 1895, Oscar Wilde sued the Marquess of Queensbury for libel. The trial that followed would unravel Wilde's life and career, leading to a criminal case that accused him of gross indecency and practicing homosexual acts. Relive those infamous cases in this rehearsed reading of excerpts from the transcripts of each trial.

This performance is presented by QPAC’s award-winning in-house storytelling company Unbound, as part of its ‘Wilde Words’ season celebrating the wit and wisdom of Oscar Wilde.

    'A Midsummer Night's Dream' (6-9 Aug)

Lysander and Hermia are on the run. Having fled the fury of a father and a tyrant who forbid their love, the couple find themselves lost in the woods, their friends Demetrius (Hermia's state-sanctioned suitor) and Helena (Demetrius' spurned admirer) close behind. They're not the only strangers in the forest, however. A troupe of local actors are preparing for a Royal Command performance and they - like the lost lovers - are about to fall under the spell influence of the true rulers of the ancient woodland... This breathtaking new adaptation of Shakespeare's iconic play is produced by QPAC's award-winning in-house storytelling company, Unbound.
